Course Requirements
To complete your course and receive continuing education credit you must complete the registration form including your signature, attend the whole class, and pay the required tuition before the class begins. There is no auditing of any course. A student that attends a course must pay the required fee.
Admission
All courses are open to all persons whether or not they are licensed mortgage brokers or loan originators. NAMF will not deny admission, base course fees, or base standards for successful completion of a course on a student’s race, color, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, familial status, age, or sexual orientation. This professional association will operate in compliance with all local, state and federal anti-discrimination laws. Once a student pre-registers for the course and receives a confirmation of the date and the time and the location of the course, the student is thereby admitted to the course subject to all other course requirements as outlined above.
Students with Special Needs
Notification to NAMF of any and all types of personal needs involving physical, emotional, and learning difficulties and/or needs related to the Americans with Disabilities Act is the sole responsibility of the student. While all reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individual needs, it is conceivable that some conditions and circumstances are beyond our ability.
Illness
If you are sick, everyone in the classroom will very much appreciate it if you stay home and take care of yourself because we do not want what you have. We reward you for making this decision by allowing you to attend class on a different day at no additional charge. Please send us an email and let us know the date of the original class and the new class date. Thank you!!
Causes for Dismissal or Preclusion
An NAMF instructor, administrator, or a consultant hired on behalf of NAMF may preclude or dismiss a student from the classroom if a student may affect or is affecting the integrity of the learning environment. Conditions for readmission are based on the mutual agreement of the instructor, student and the school administrator.
Refunds
Once any class has begun, no refunds or credits will be provided. If a student is unable to attend a course and has already prepaid for registration, NAMF will provide a credit to attend a similar course with the same number of clock hours. The credit will be valid for up to 12 months after the date of the originally-scheduled course. Requests for credit must be made in writing and must include the student’s name, company name, business and home address, phone number, and email address. These requests must be made 3 business days before the date of the class. To use the credit, the student must contact NAMF in writing at least 3 business days before the date of the class for which they want to use the credit. If, for any reason, NAMF cancels a course, NAMF will refund any pre-paid course registrations within 30 days of the date of the cancelled course.
Inclement Weather
If the location where we’ll be holding class is closed or plans on opening late OR closes early, we will have no choice but to follow their lead. Please check the schedule page for updates, or phone 206-931-2241. In the event of a closure, we will post an update on the voicemail system. If you cannot make it to the class due to inclement weather where you live, you will be granted a credit voucher to be used for attendance at a later class date. No refunds are given due to inclement weather or natural disasters beyond our control.
Course Materials
Students may receive a workbook, handouts, and other materials as a part of the course. Unless otherwise stated, the course materials are the property of NAMF and are not to be reprinted or distributed without permission.
Electronic Devices
There will be no use of electronic devices of any kind while class is in session. All cell phones and personal digital assistants are to be turned off or on vibrate mode, all Bluetooth earpieces are to be turned off and put away. Students are not allowed to use laptops while class is in session with the exception of a technology topic that requires the use of a computer. There will be no recording devices of any kind allowed while class is in session.
Certificates of Completion and Record Retention
Certificates of completion will be handed to the student upon completion of the course and upon receipt of full tuition. Students will be required to sign in at the beginning of class and sign out at the end of class. Distributed certificates will be logged in on the sign in/sign out registration sheet. NAMF will maintain student attendance records for 5 years as required by state law and rules. If a student leaves class early, arrives late, or leaves the classroom for an extended period of time, he or she will not receive a certificate of completion.
Record Retrieval and Certificate Re-issuance Fee
“Record Retrieval” includes time spent reviewing any former student’s attendance in a past class. This includes but is not limited to the re-issuance of a certificate of completion. Such service will be charged $100 and payment is required prior to re-issuance. A request for record retrieval and/or certificate re-issuance must be made in writing noting the date, month, year, location, and course name and must include the student’s mailing address. Reissued certificates will be mailed by U.S. post, within 30 days of the date of receipt of the written request.
NSF Checks
In the event that you pay with a check and it is returned from your bank for “not sufficient funds” we charge a $50 NSF fee to reprocess payment for class registration. In addition, we are unable to confirm your attendance with your state regulator for your class until you have paid for attending the class.
